The opportunity to begin my dog training career started at
about the age of six, by taking the leashes out of my brother
and sister's hands while they were at 4-H dog training and
telling them that they were doing it wrong. Luckily, for me,
they were very patient and so were the Australian Shepherds.
As part of my 4-H Dog Project, my parents and I made the
decision to puppy raise service dogs. A new company was
beginning in Kansas that was concerned with breeding
mentally and genetically sound dogs. The decision was made
to get a Pembroke Welsh Corgi to which would be the
beginning of the company's signal dog program. My first
Pembroke Welsh Corgi came to me in 1992, who also
whelped the first Autm Chase litter. Throughout the years I
have taken every opportunity to show any dog I could get my
hands on, learning from each and every one. For a couple of
years, I also taught classes for the Sunflower Kennel Club of
Olathe KS.
The past year has been spent specialling Noah the Swedish
Vallhund (Ch. Laurelwood's Noah's Ark av JNKR). Noah
qualified for the AKC Eukanuba Classic where he received an
Award of Excellence. He also received the only Award of
Merit that was presented at the Swedish Vallhund Club of
America National Specialty. We look forward to taking Noah
to Westminster to finish out his year.
Currently, I am a member of the Sunflower Kennel Club of
Olathe KS and the Swedish Vallhund Club of America. More
than anything I love to show dogs! My hope is that the
attendees of our class go away as excited and enthusiastic
about the world of pure bred dogs as we are!

In 1982 I purchased my first show dog, a Shetland Sheepdog,
and began showing in obedience and conformation. This has
lead me to a dog showing career that has now spanned over
25 years. Within this time not only my own, but other dogs
in my care have earned numerous Championship titles, and
awards. Currently, I am breeding and showing Smooth Fox
Terriers. For 2004 through 2008 dogs from my own breeding
have qualified for the AKC Eukanuba Championship. As I
continue to show dogs, I also am actively fulfilling the
necessary requirements to apply for my AKC judge's license.
I am very happy to be able to pass along the knowledge and
handling skills that I have learned over the years. I wish all
our students as much fun, friendship, and success as I have
had in showing and working with my own and client dogs.
What a wonderful sport!
Currently I have memberships in The Sunflower Kennel Club,
Smooth Fox Terrier Association of America, The American
Fox Terrier Club. I am also an all breed professional groomer.

As over 30 years of combined training and showing dogs has passed, we have discovered
a need in the Kansas City area. This need is based off of every great conformation dog is trained
just as well, and in some cases better, than any performance dog.
We not only want you to use a class as puppy socialization time, but to also hone your skills as a
conformation trainer. All breeds and Junior Handlers are welcome and if there is something specific
you want to work on, just ask! In the future we look forward to guest teachers. Check the website in
the future for further information.
Thank you so much for looking at our site and we look forward to seeing you in class!
